Rally X has since made an appearance in several Namco game collections, and the special flag objective from this game has appeared as a usable item in the Super Smash Bros. Rally X also features a two-player mode where each player takes turns playing to compete for a higher score. There is a limited amount of fuel for each level acting as a time limit, and more fuel can be used to leave a smoke screen behind the blue car that slows down enemy cars. Red enemy cars pursue the blue one and must be evaded. It is a maze racing game in which the player controls a blue car through each level to collect all the flags which give an increasing amount of points based on how many have already been collected, including a special flag that is worth double points.
